Is this for you?

This is for you if…

  • You’re worried about losing independence, mobility, or confidence in your movement
  • Uneven terrain, stairs, or crowded places have started to feel risky
  • You’ve had enough of scans and medication and want to take an active role in your own recovery
  • You accept your age comes with limits, but don’t think that means writing yourself off

Not for you if…

  • You’re looking for a high-intensity programme with no adaptation for your starting point
  • You haven’t yet been cleared by a doctor or physiotherapist to begin (we’ll always check this first)
02The gap

The world gets quietly smaller

What you’ve been doing

More appointments, less movement

More medical appointments, more scans, more medication, with the world quietly getting smaller: less distance walked, fewer places gone, fewer people seen.

Why it doesn’t work

Confidence keeps shrinking

Without the right kind of movement, mobility and confidence keep shrinking rather than stabilising, and independence becomes something you’re managing the loss of, rather than protecting.

The FitBeat alternative

Built around independence

Training built specifically around independence and falls prevention, so you can walk with your head up, go where you want, and stay part of the lives of the people around you.

03Process

How it works

01

Assess

We understand your current mobility, strength, and any medical clearance or physiotherapist guidance already in place.

02

Build

A programme focused on the movements that protect independence: balance, strength, and confidence on real-world terrain.

03

Progress

As strength and confidence build, so does your range — more steps, more places, more comfortably.

04Scoreboard

What we track

As people grow older, their world gets smaller: the spaces they live in, the people they see, the ground they cover, even where their eyes go. We track the things that make it bigger again.

  • Mobility and balance
  • Functional strength for everyday movement
  • Confidence on stairs, uneven ground, and in crowds
  • Independence in daily activities
  • General energy and quality of life

Clients in their 70s and 80s

At over 70 years old, Marian proved it’s never too late to get leaner and healthier. In 14 weeks, she went from 92.9 kg to 86 kg — from under 5,000 to over 10,000 steps a day. Every kilogramme lost eased pressure on her arthritic knee. She went from avoiding the pool to swimming again.

“I’m turning 80 and have started losing confidence after falls, fractures, and growing aches despite exercising for years. FitBeat took the time to understand how I moved and rebuild my strength safely. Within six months, I went from 1 kg dumbbells to carrying 10+ kg dumbbells. They’re patient, knowledgeable, and exceptional at helping seniors regain strength and confidence.”
Shashi V.Age 80
“They helped me build strength safely and confidently with a personalised plan that suited my age and ability. Their coaching is patient, professional, and technique-focused — I’ve improved my posture, strength, and confidence.”

06Questions

Frequently asked questions

Am I too old for a personal trainer?

No. What changes with age is the type of training, not whether you can start. Our oldest client is currently 79 and trains twice a week.

Do you have specific certifications or experience with older adults?

We don’t hold a certification specific to older adults, and we’d rather say so plainly. What we do have is a growing number of clients aged 65 and over, some around 80, and coaches who are certified, insured and NREP-registered across the board.

Can I train with diabetes, hypertension, or arthritis?

With medical clearance, yes. All three conditions can genuinely improve with the right strength and fitness work, and we’ll help you manage them safely alongside your treatment.

What health screening do you do before I start?

A standard set of industry medical questions, a look at lifestyle factors and training history, and any notes or reports from your healthcare provider or physiotherapist.

Do I need to get fit before I hire a trainer?

No, that’s what we’re for. The best time to start was years ago; the second best time is now.
