Questions, Answered Plainly
Cost, injuries, home training, packages and the community bits — the things people actually ask before they book.
Training at home
What equipment does a personal trainer bring to your home?
A small kit if needed: resistance bands, a TRX suspension trainer, sometimes light weights. Some sessions work with no equipment at all; we can build a genuinely tough workout from bodyweight alone.
How much space do I need for a home session?
Enough for a yoga mat is the minimum. Around 5 square metres of clear floor is comfortable; more is a bonus, not a requirement.
Can we train in my condo gym instead of my apartment?
Yes! It gives us more equipment to work with, and it’s worth learning your own condo gym so it stops feeling unfamiliar. That familiarity is often what makes people stick with it.
Will training at home disturb my neighbours downstairs?
We can build the session around it, avoiding dropped weights and heavy landings, and adjusting for noise-sensitive households. Just tell your coach, and it’s built in from session one.
Which parts of Singapore do you cover?
All of it. Most of our current clients are in the central, east coast and north-west regions, but we train islandwide.
Cost
How much does a personal trainer cost in Singapore?
With us: a trial and assessment session is S$120, and every 1:1 session after that is S$160 for 60 minutes — the same rate whether you buy one session or twenty. Couples (2:1) training is S$240 a session. Group bootcamp starts at a S$10 trial week of six classes. While most personal trainers hide their costs, we pride ourselves on transparency, which is why we list our prices publicly and proudly and tell you why it’s that cost and what you receive for that, with no hidden terms and conditions, no fine print or small print. Everything is on the pricing page.
Do you offer single sessions or only packages?
Both, with no penalty for choosing single sessions. Packages add the benefit of holding a recurring slot with your coach.
Can my partner and I train together, and how is that priced?
Yes! 2:1 couples training is common, and it’s priced on our pricing page.
Do you have a referral scheme?
Yes, for both bootcamp and 1:1 clients. Details on our referral page.
Injuries & conditions
Can I do personal training with a knee injury or lower back pain?
Once you’ve been cleared by a healthcare professional or physiotherapist, yes, and usually you should. These conditions are often caused or worsened by inactivity, so moving more, done correctly, tends to speed recovery rather than risk it.
My physio referred me — how do you work with them?
We take your training and therapeutic history and current status from them, run our own assessment, and build a programme they approve before we start. As we go, we check back in to confirm we’re doing the right exercises and avoiding anything we shouldn’t. More on the rehab page.
Can I train with diabetes, hypertension, or arthritis?
With medical clearance, yes. All three conditions can genuinely improve with the right strength and fitness work, and we’ll help you manage them safely alongside your treatment.
Do you do pre- and postnatal training?
Yes! Coach Jesslyn is certified in Functional Fitness for Pregnancy & Postpartum. Maintaining strength and flexibility through this period benefits both mother and birth.
What health screening do you do before I start?
A standard set of industry medical questions, a look at lifestyle factors and training history, and any notes or reports from your healthcare provider or physiotherapist.
Beginners & older adults
Am I too old for a personal trainer?
No. What changes with age is the type of training, not whether you can start. Our oldest client is currently 79 and trains twice a week.
Is personal training worth it if I’ve never exercised?
It’s arguably built for exactly this. We specialise in helping true beginners learn the fundamentals, then move into group or social training once the habit’s in place, which is what actually makes it stick long-term.
Do I need to get fit before I hire a trainer?
No, that’s what we’re for. The best time to start was years ago; the second best time is now.
What happens in the first session?
A warm welcome and a few honest questions: sleep, energy, what you last ate. Then a scaled-down walk-through of your workout with room for questions, at your pace. We close by checking how you feel and planning any adjustments for next time.
Are your coaches certified and insured?
Yes! Certified and registered well above Singapore’s industry norm, and covered by extensive public liability and indemnity insurance for every session.
How often should I train to see results?
Depends on the goal. More energy can show in 3–4 weeks. Visible muscle takes longer and a consistent weekly volume, typically over 2–3 sessions. Fat loss, done sustainably, tends to run 0.25–0.9 kg a week.
Do you provide nutrition guidance?
Yes! As an add-on or standalone coaching product, renewed every 4 weeks. Lighter, ad-hoc guidance is also available in and between sessions.
What do I do on days I’m not training with a coach?
Rest where your body needs it. Most change happens outside the gym. Where it helps, your coach can build complementary sessions or point you toward sport and activity you actually enjoy.
Booking, packages & policies
How do you match me with a coach, and can I change if it’s not a fit?
We match based on your intake form and consult call, aiming for the coach most likely to get you to your goal. If it’s not the right fit, tell us (no questions asked), and we’ll find someone who is.
What’s your cancellation and rescheduling policy?
Reschedule or cancel free of charge more than 24 hours out. Inside 24 hours, sessions are non-refundable unless there’s a legitimate reason, such as a medical note.
Do packages expire? Can I pause if I travel or fall ill?
All packages have a stated expiry. Pausing is possible — flag it at purchase so we can set an extended validity window; longer pauses are at our discretion.
Community
What’s the difference between bootcamp and 1:1?
Bootcamp is a group of five or more, with less equipment and more focus on energy and momentum. 1:1 is full attention on you, with a programme built specifically around your goals.
Where do your retreats go, and who are they for?
From the shores of Phuket and Bali to the summit of Southeast Asia’s tallest peaks, plus obstacle courses closer to home in Malaysia and Sentosa. More on our community page.
